Welcome to SleepSync, an iOS sleep-cycle calculator app developed by Kasem Samra ("we", "our", or "the developer"), available on the Apple App Store.
SleepSync helps you plan your sleep schedule by calculating optimal bedtimes and wake-up times based on natural 90-minute sleep cycles. When you input a desired wake-up time or bedtime, the app suggests target times to help you wake up feeling refreshed. You may also optionally schedule local reminder notifications for your calculated times.
We believe that a sleep calculator has no business tracking you. This Privacy Policy outlines the simple, privacy-first principles governing SleepSync.
2. Information We Collect
We collect absolutely no personal data.
SleepSync does not collect, harvest, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, usage data, or analytics with the developer or any third party. Specifically:
- No User Accounts: There is no registration, sign-up, or login required. You use the app anonymously.
- No Network Transmission: The app does not maintain or communicate with any backend server, cloud database, or API. SleepSync makes zero network requests.
- No Usage Tracking: We do not log what times you calculate, how often you open the app, or what features you interact with.
- No Advertising Identifiers: We do not access or use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or any other device identifiers.
3. How We Use Local Data
To provide a seamless experience, SleepSync stores a few user preferences directly on your device:
- Chosen Language: Your preferred interface language.
- Sleep Cycle Length: Your configured sleep cycle duration in minutes (default is 90 minutes).
- Fall-Asleep Buffer Time: Your configured time allowance to fall asleep (e.g., 14 minutes).
- Notification Permission Status: A local flag recording whether you have granted or denied permission for local notifications.
These preferences are stored solely on your iPhone or iPad using standard iOS on-device sandboxed storage
(backed by AsyncStorage / UserDefaults).
This data never leaves your device. It is neither transmitted across the internet nor backed up to any developer servers. It remains isolated inside SleepSync's sandboxed environment.
4. Permissions We Request
SleepSync requests only one optional permission:

Notifications (
UNUserNotificationCenter): Used solely if you explicitly choose to schedule a local reminder notification for your calculated bedtime or wake-up time.
All notifications are generated, scheduled, and delivered entirely on-device by iOS. SleepSync does not connect to Apple Push Notification service (APNs) servers and does not generate or transmit push notification device tokens.
No Other Permissions: SleepSync does not request or access any other device hardware, sensors, or private databases. The app has no access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, HealthKit, device tracking, or background refresh.
5. Third-Party Services & SDKs
SleepSync contains no third-party SDKs that collect or transmit data:
- No analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel)
- No advertising networks or marketing tracking SDKs
- No crash reporting or diagnostic collectors (e.g., Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics)
- No social login or federated identity SDKs
- No third-party data processors or hosting platforms
Because there are no third-party telemetry or ad SDKs included, no third party receives any information from your use of SleepSync.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Because we do not collect or store any information on remote servers, there is no remote user data for us to retain, manage, or delete.
For local data stored on your device:
- Your preferences remain on your device for as long as SleepSync is installed.
- Complete Deletion: If you delete or uninstall the SleepSync app from your device, iOS automatically and permanently erases all local application data and preferences immediately.
7. Children's Privacy
SleepSync is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom).
Because SleepSync does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements to the app or updates to legal and platform requirements.
Whenever any changes are made, the revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of SleepSync following any updates indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
